Meet the Teacher
Ms. Tewanda Smith

Hello Eagle family!
It is a pleasure to introduce myself and share the educational journey and professional experiences that have guided me to this meaningful role in education.
I began the introduction to my educational journey in 2005. I graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English. Go Broncos!
After several years in the classroom and graduating from East Carolina University (Go Pirates!) with a Masters in Library Science: School and Public Library certification, I made the transition from the classroom to the media center.
I hold the belief that the role of an educator extends well beyond the delivery of curriculum. It involves intentional reflection on what we teach and how we teach while inspiring curiosity, connection and growth.
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”. - John Quincy Adams
"The beauty of life is to be outside the box, so that the box doesn't exist . . . To limit a human being to one mode of expression is really a crime". - Herbie Hancock
