Meet the Counselor

Ms. Jennifer Vaughn

School Counselor

Hello Students and Parents!

I am super excited to be a counselor here at Dunn Elementary. This will be my 3rd year at Dunn Elementary, and 7th year as a school counselor overall, and I continue to love it more and more each year!   Previously, I worked as a part time school counselor in Moore County but persevered in coming home to Harnett County as I love the area and the people. It was here that I had the privilege to be a counselor for 3 years at STAR Academy.   I have a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Georgia, and taught middle school for a few years a long time ago. I also have my M.Ed in School Counseling that I earned from Liberty University, and am currently working toward my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling also at Liberty.  At some point, my life goal is to write at least one book, and perhaps earn a Ph.D. My family consists of  3 kids, who all attended school in Harnett County, my fiance, and several furbabies (5 cats and 3 dogs).  I am a homebody and I enjoy listening to music, reading, writing and creating things. I am looking forward to getting to know all of our new students coming in this year, and seeing all of my former students again.   If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I can assist and support in areas of anxiety, depression, relationships, friendships, and crisis intervention, just to name a few, via individual counseling and groups.
