Harnett Virtual Academy was established in August 2021 to provide Harnett County students with an alternative learning option to the traditional brick-and-mortar school.  HVA is a full-time online school that serves students in grades Kindergarten thru 12th grade.  During the 2021-2022 school year, HVA served approximately 270 students.  HVA allows students and families to have flexibility and control over their learning.

Harnett Virtual Academy has partnered with Stride K12 Online School to provide a rigorous online school.  Students enrolled at HVA take a full course load just like the students at the traditional brick-and-mortar schools.  Students are required to be self-motivated, self-disciplined, possess the desire to learn in an asynchronous learning environment, work independently, and exhibit good time management skills.
