My name is Amy Jacobs, and I am the JES School Counseloor for grades 3-5.  I have worked as a School Counselor for over 20 years; 19 of which have been in Harnett County.  Prior to becoming a School Counselor, i worked for 7 years as a Clinical Social Worker with families and children within the mental health system in both Orange and Johnston counties. My education includes a Bachelor's Degree from UNC-CH in Sociology, a Master's Degree in Social Work from UNC-CH, and a Master's Degree in School Counseling from NCSU.  My focus as a School Counselor is the academic, socio-emotional, and personal growth of our students, and guiding students toward being the best they can be.  I strive to do this through classroom guidance lessons and small group and individual counseling, along with building supportive relationships with all students.  I also serve on several committees within the school, such as our School Improvement Team, Muliti-Tiered System of Support Team, Problem-Solving Team, Positive Behavior Interventions and Support Team, and as the chairperson for our 3-5 504 students.  All of these teams serve the same purpose of helping our students acheive their greatest potential.  I am also available to our staff and our student's parents to help further this goal.  If you need to contact me, please feel free to do so either by phone at the school's number, (919) 499-4912, or by email at ajacobs@harnett.k12.nc.us.  I am excited to be a part of the great things happening for students at Johnsonville Elementary!
