Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Jennifer Kess
Hello! My name is Jennifer Kess, and I’m thrilled to be your child’s first grade teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, and I’m certified to teach grades K–6. This will be my fifth year teaching at Johnsonville Elementary School, and I bring over fourteen years of experience working with students from Preschool through sixth grade.
I have been married to my husband for 21 years and we have 3 wonderful boys together. We moved to North Carolina in 2018 after my husband was stationed at Fort Bragg. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, going to the movies, and exploring museums together.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to teach your amazing children this year. I look forward to a year full of learning, growth, and fun!

Google Classroom is utilized for classroom instruction, and collaboration. Students use their Harnettstudents.org Google accounts to have access to assignments, resources, and content. Using the internet ,students have access anytime and anywhere to post assignments, due dates, as well as supporting curriculum resources. All students should have access to Google Classroom.
