Hello I am Ms.Rivas and I am the Music Teacher here at JES. The 2024-2025 school year will be my 8th yr teaching here at JES. I have a bachelors of science in music education (instumental) k-12. I earned my degree from Fayetteville State University in 2009. (GO BRONCOS!!)

A little about me:

I was born in Junction City Kansas right outside of Fort Riley. I moved to NC when I was 3 years old and attended school here in Harnett county. I attended South Harnett Elementary, Anderson Creek Primary, Western Harnett Middle, and Western Harnett High School.

I am a violinist and have been playing the violin since I was 10 years old. I am a member of Lee County Community Orchestra where I sit second chair second violin.

I have been married to my husband for 12 years. Together we have 5 children who all attend Harnett county schools. Our two oldest attend WHHS where our daughter is a sophomore and our son is a freshman. Our younger three attend HES where we have a son in 5th grade, a son in 2nd grade, and our youngest daughter in 1st grade.

In my spare time I enjoy playing my violin, teaching private violin lessons, hauling my kids to rec sports, reading, going to the beach, and hiking.

I look forward to getting to work with all of your children and know we will have an amazing school year.
