This is my 29th year of teaching and my 18th year as the media coordinator at North Harnett Primary School. I taught the 3rd and 4th grades for 11 years before moving into the media center. I am married, and we have a son and a daughter. I am the co-chair of the North Carolina Children's Book Awards State Committee, and I am a member of the North Carolina School Library Media Association (NCSLMA). I am the Volunteer Coordinator, a PTG Teacher Representative, the AIG Lead Teacher, and I serve as a beginning teacher mentor.

NC Children's Book Awards

The North Carolina Children's Book Award program is a children's choice program sponsored by school and public librarians in North Carolina and is designed to introduce children to current children's literature and to instill a love of reading. 

Book Fairs!

The media center usually hosts two book fairs per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. All proceeds from this educational fundraiser will go towards purchasing a variety of books and instructional materials to support our media program. For the 2025-26 school year, our book fairs are scheduled for December 8-12, 2025 and March 23-March 27, 2026.
