Welcome to Kindergarten

Welcome to Mrs. Everette & Mrs. Revels

Kindergarten Class

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you and your child to the LaFayette family. Kindergarten is such a fun and exciting time and we look forward to working with your child and watching them grow and learn this year!! We want to start by sharing a little information about ourselves.

Mrs. Everette

My name is MaKisha Everette and I am very excited to be teaching your child this year. I believe in your child’s ability to learn and I will strive to be the best teacher I can to make them successful in Kindergarten. My #1 goal this year is to help your child become an independent thinker and to prepare them for first grade while maintaining a positive, nurturing and fun learning environment.

I graduated from the University of NC at Charlotte with a BA in early childhood education-Birth to Kindergarten and a minor in Child Psychology. I have taught for 8 years and have been with Harnett County Schools for 5 years. I am originally from White Lake, but I have called Harnett Co. my home for the last 15 years. I live in Fuquay-Varina with my husband and 4 children. I have 3 daughters, Kasey-18, Katelyn-16, Khloe-13 and 1 son, Trey-10. I love spending time with my family, shopping, going to the beach and fellowshipping with my church family.

I would like to thank you in advance for all the support and for giving me the opportunity to work with your child this year. I look forward to sharing those awesome educational moments with you and your child throughout the year, so please feel free to contact me at the school or email me anytime regarding your child’s progress or concerns.

Mrs. Revels

My name is Darlene Revels. I have been a teacher assistant for 24 years. I am so excited to be a part of your child’s Kindergarten experience. I have lived in Harnett County all my life and married to my high school sweetheart. I am a mother of three and a proud Grammy of 6 sweet grandbabies. I enjoy spending time with my babies, working in my yard and baking!!!! I look forward to getting to know your child this kindergarten year!!

Seesaw

Seesaw

Seesaw is a digital portfolio system that allows students to engage in learning activities and share their work with their teacher and their family. The communication tools allow families to comment on student work and receive progress updates from teachers.

Students add posts to their journals. Student posts showcase the academic projects they've been working on in the classroom. This could include photos, artwork, videos, activities, notes, projects they've created in other apps, and more.

Families get notified when there are new posts in their student's journal. They can view posts and add likes and comments. Seesaw requires an invite from your child's teacher in order to sign up. If you do not have an invite QR code or link, contact your child's teacher. Up to 10 family members can connect to one child's journal.

If you have more than one child using Seesaw, you can subscribe to both journals using the same account. You can access Seesaw on any device, iOS, Android, or access from any web browser. The Family App gives family members a view of what their child is working on in the classroom. Family members can comment on student work, view announcements, and message their child's teacher. Family accounts cannot respond to Activities or post directly to a student journal.
