Meet the School Counselor
Mrs. Caitlin Peterson

Hi everyone! My name is Mrs. Peterson.
I am one of the school counselors at Overhills Elementary! I love working with our students, teachers, administration, and parents to help each student reach their fullest potential and discover their unique talents and abilities. I am available to listen to the student's concerns and to help them effectively deal with situations that happen in and out of the classroom.
Professional School Counseling has become a vital part of a student's academic success. It plays a major role in a student's life because counseling offers them a different learning environment, new experiences, and engaging activities.
I connect with our students in several ways through individual counseling, small group, or classroom character education lessons. In classroom lessons we discuss the topics of respect, responsibility, kindness, bullying prevention, goal setting, leadership qualities, and so much more.
In small groups, we focus on building friendships, emotion and time management, and any other topics that we may need to address.
I started at OES in February of 2022! In my spare time, I love to travel, spend time with my husband and my two dogs, and paint.
