About Me
Hello and welcome!
One of my favorite quotes is, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." – Saint Augustine. I believe that by learning about the world’s history, we’re all able to turn more pages and gain a better understanding of our place in the bigger picture of this world.
I have a passion for exploring the stories of our past, the connections between cultures, and how history shapes our present and future.
Before becoming a teacher, I served 22 years in the military, primarily in the Army. My service gave me the incredible opportunity to travel to 14 countries and 23 states, which has deeply influenced my love for history, culture, and exploration. Traveling and learning about the world is something I still enjoy, and I love bringing those experiences into the classroom to make history come alive for my students.
When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me spending time outdoors, at the barn or enjoying sports with my wife of 18 years and 2 amazing daughters. I’m a big fan of wrestling, soccer, and softball—both playing and watching. I also enjoy unwinding by watching YouTube videos (especially about history, sports, and travel) and planning my next adventure.
