About Me

Hello everyone,

I am the Apparel and Textile Production Teacher at Overhills High School (Ms. Hartwell), originally from New Jersey. I've been in the fashion industry for 23 + years, graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology (NYC) with a Fashion Design associate's degree. I've worked at a well- known television show in the wardrobe department for some time, accepted a position as a Creative Director for a private clothing company in New York City, collaborated with various costume designers, music artists, hosts, stylists, producers, and more while in the fashion industry. I later launched my own clothing line "Sameerah Hart," and that's where I discovered the passion for assisting teens with achieving great success academically and professionally. I would often work with high school seniors to create various evening looks for prom. In 2016 I decided to transition into the educational field, later obtaining a bachelor degree in Psychology while teaching in New Jersey. I relocated to North Carolina in 2020 and began teaching Apparel and Textile Production in 2021. Inspiring and motivating students to achieve greatness is my passion.
