About Me: 
¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Soy su profesora, Señora Smith. Welcome to Spanish class! I am your teacher, Mrs. Smith. This is my 9th year teaching. I taught Middle School Spanish in Onslow County from 2005-2006. Between 2006-2016 I was a military spouse (my husband served in the Marine Corps) and a stay-at-home mom. As my children grew older, I knew I wanted to return to teaching full-time. I worked in Special Education from 2016-2021. I switched to teaching Spanish again in the Spring semester of 2022. I am very excited to share my passion for the Spanish language and culture.

Some fun facts about me: 
I have six children. I'm a runner and run races from 5ks to 100 milers throughout the year. Running is a huge passion of mine, especially trail running. I also enjoy hiking, yoga, Zumba, and being a baseball/soccer mom. I have also traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Central America, and South America. I studied women's rights in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 2004 and volunteered at a women's shelter there. I lived and studied Argentine Politics in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Studied Argentine Politics and International Law at Universidad Torcuato di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina
