Meet the Teacher

Ms. Walters

About Me

Stacy Ann Walters (Ms.)-B.Ed. (Hons).

Yours truly, is a fervent young lady with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and an incomparable drive for excellence. I am from the vibrant country of Jamaica where I graduated from The Mico University here, I pursued my first Degree in Social Studies and English Language & Literacy. I have been teaching for approximately ten (10) years, during this time I have taught English Language & Literature, Social Studies, Geography and History-ranging from grades 7-13. My modus operandi is that teaching and learning transcend the classroom. Hence, the reason why I was a Faculty Advisor for the Tourism Action Club, Debate Society and Key Club International.

I am an ardent and a tenacious servant who believes that education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change this world. I am a firm advocate of globalization and its impact. As a pedagogue I staunchly believe that the greatest opportunity to be had in a lifetime is the opportunity to influence minds in a positive way. The teaching profession has afforded me this opportunity; the privilege to transform the lives of my students who are vested in my care to transform into butterflies.

I consider myself to be: Amicable, Dependable, Creative, Industrious, Meticulous, Dedicated, Respectful, Resourceful and Solution-minded. I staunchly believe that a student's environment is their classroom. It is imperative to allow them to interact with their environment and become users of information rather than absorbers of data where it is only regurgitated.

I am committed to:

  • STEAM BASED EDUCATIONAL APPROACH

  • CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILL DEVELOPMENT

  • LEARNING-FOCUSED/AVID MODALITY TO DEVELOP 21ST CENTURY LEARNERS

  • FACILITATING the C.H.A.M.P.S Matrix Voice Level Modality

Teaching is not just a profession, it is a lifestyle, It is a lifestyle that I love and enjoy. It is a lifestyle that I will continue to be a part of as I embark on my sojourn in this life.
