Hello, my name is Ms. Nekita Shipmon, I am pleased to be a part of your student's educational journey. Your student will engage in the subject of English Language Arts with me . I am extremely excited to educate the young minds within my classroom and throughout the halls of Overhills Middle. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine and I am elated to work with you on continually building of a successful student here at Overhills Middle School. This will be a full year of adventures through literature, grammar, as well as vocabulary . We will experience lots of FUN while learning and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for US!

I am graduate of Shaw University in Raleigh NC and I am currently obtaining my Master's Degree in Master's of Teaching in Middle School Education. I have over 15+ years of teaching experience and I believe in educating the whole child from their individual and collective success, not only in the classroom, but as well as within the community. It is my mission to instill a love of learning within each of my students. I teach with passion and enthusiasm and for that my students become life long learners. It is important to keep communication open between the teacher and parent. I am open to speak with you whenever that is within the guidelines of my office hours. I look forward to a great year together!
