Teacher Biography

I am a native of Sampson County.  I graduated from Union High School in 1993.  I attended and graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Language & Literature.  I later earned a Master's degree in Education Management from Strayer University.

As most college graduates, I started a career outside of my degree field in 1998.  I began working at Central Prison in Raleigh as a Correctional Officer.  In 2007, I changed my career path and went to Community Corrections as a Probation Parole Officer in Harnett County.   In 2014, I was promoted to Probation Parole Field Specialist for the District which included Lee, Harnett, and Johnston Counties.  Despite working outside of my degree field, teaching was imbedded in my heart and in each position I ending up teaching in some capacity.

In October 2017 I stepped out on Faith, followed my heart, and began teaching English at Triton High School. In 2024 I decided to use my skills in the Credit Recovery/Academic Support classes to assist students in regaining focus and getting back on track academically.

I am looking forward to building and maintaining a positive and educational relationship with all the students that I encounter in my classes and at Triton High School.
