Welcome! My name is Katrina Turlington and this is my first year teaching 5th grade at Wayne Avenue Elementary. Originally from Buffalo, New York, I moved to North Carolina to attend Campbell University where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career at Wayne Avenue where I taught 4th grade for five years. During this time, I developed a strong interest in using technology in my lessons to enhance student learning. I then worked as the Instructional Technology Facilitator at Benhaven Elementary for four years while obtaining my MAEd in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University. I then returned to Wayne Avenue as the ITF for two years before returning to the classroom. I love working with children and seeing them grow academically.
