Harnett County School ESL for Families

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that parents, families, and communities of ELs be an integral part of the Title I/Title III programs, activities, and planning.

To this end, the HCS ESL/Title III Program commits to ensuring that:

Parents and Families of MLs

play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning
are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s education at school
are full partners in their child’s education
are included in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child

The HCS Title I and ESL/Title III Program

engages in activities to support family and community engagement
creates an atmosphere of 'voice' and 'belonging' for all ML families and communities
