As a reminder, beginning tomorrow Wednesday, November 8, Highland Middle School students and visitors will pass through our new detection systems as they enter our campus. These systems allow you to freely flow through the screening process without taking out everyday items such as keys and cell phones and without emptying your bookbag. These systems will help us keep prohibited items off our campus by alerting us if one of those items is detected.
Students and visitors will pass through the systems and continue to their destination unless the system alerts. If the system does alert, they will be directed to a staff member who will conduct a search of the indicated area.
In preparation for the screening if you have large 3-ring binders, metal eyeglass cases, or umbrellas, please hold those items in your hands so that staff can assist you with the screening process.
