Dear Parents,
The appropriate education of all students is a top priority of parents, school
employees, and members of our community. Our state is committed to providing
current information to parents because we know that well-informed parents are
more likely to be involved in their child’s education and school. For this reason,
and to meet the federal requirements, North Carolina has issued a report card for
each school. This report card presents and explains data for the 2021-22 school
year.
The report card includes important information about school and student
performance, class size, attendance, school safety, instructional resources, and
teacher quality. Report card data is available for each school, each district, and for
the state’s education system as a whole.
We are excited about the growth our students are making here at Johnsonville
Elementary School. We want to continue to work on meeting our expected growth
and exceeding our growth for all of our students. The faculty and staff of
Johnsonville Elementary know that our students can and will perform even better.
We are going to continue to focus this year on improving our Reading and Math
scores. Our focus will include formative assessments to monitor student progress.
We will use Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessments in K-5 to find our
students’ level and provide guided literacy instruction. We will also provide
intervention services with our tutors. We use iReady Diagnostic and Instructional
Program K-5 to reinforce and enrich students in Reading and Math. We integrate
Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy to challenge our students to be critical thinkers.
Johnsonville Elementary School provides enrichment activities to enhance our
academic program and showcase our students’ achievements. Enrichment activities
include: Battle of the Books, Lego League, Safety Patrol, and Eaglet Leaders.
At Johnsonville, we celebrate the academic achievement of our students with quarterly award programs and a Monthly PBIS celebration to recognize and celebrate classroom behavior and citizenship. Please feel free to contact me to discuss this report card, or if you have questions or concerns. We welcome your continued involvement in Johnsonville Elementary School.
Sincerely,
Renee Gilmore
