Attention Senior Families! Support will be offered to complete the process for Financial Aid Forms on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Central Carolina Community College located at 1075 East Cornelius Harnett Boulevard in Lillington in the multi-purpose room from 4-7 pm. The FAFSA is an important step of the college process, as it is necessary for receiving any federal grants, loans, and/or need-based scholarships. The form is free. One opportunity available is the NEXT NC Scholarship. Most students from households with incomes of $80,000 or less will qualify for at least $3,000/year to attend a North Carolina community college and it covers all tuition and fees. For students planning to go to a UNC institution, they can get at least $5,000/year which covers more than half, if not all, tuition and fees. For students going to a North Carolina private college, there is a state need-based scholarship for them, too. All of this starts with students completing the FAFSA! PLEASE create the FSA ID log-in before attending (3 days before) at studentaid.gov, and bring the student's SSN, parent's SSN, ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number if applicable), or ARN (if applicable), a copy of your 2023 tax return, W-2, or any other docs to report income/money earned, records of child support received, current balances of cash & bank accounts, and net worth of investments, businesses, and farms. Come join us and get money for college! Food will be provided and drawings for prizes will occur during this time. Counselors from the high schools will be in attendance as well as translators.
