UNITY DAY AT WHMS
The WHMS Student Leadership Team celebrated #UnityDay with a #SayHello campaign. They started the day by welcoming fellow classmates with posters, a warm smile, and positive words of encouragement, as they arrived on campus.

Students and staff were encouraged to wear orange in honor of National Unity Day, which occurs every third Wednesday in October. This day was founded by the PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to show their pledge to end bullying.

WHMS Principal, Nick Weeks wants to emphasize the power of unity in our school community— “Together, we can stand up against bullying, promote kindness, and create an environment where every student feels safe, respected, and valued. We use this month to raise awareness, educate, and foster a culture of inclusivity and compassion. Our unity is our strength, and by working together, we can make a lasting impact on our school and in the lives of our students.

School Counselors Tara Smith and Shannon Bradley coordinated this month’s activities which includes a visit with the DA to talk about Cyberbullying. Teachers will be trained on #CharacterStrong to further promote good character and school unity.

Harnett County Schools is united in our pledge against bullying, and are grateful to students, staff, and families that promote and advocate for a safe and supportive environment.
