WHMS TARDY POLICY
It is important for all students to arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. every day. Being on time for school teaches punctuality and responsibility. If a student comes to school late they miss part of the instructional program which cannot be retaught.
Students who arrive at school after 7:45 and/or arrive during the course of a school day are required to report to the office to obtain a tardy slip.
If a student has a medical/dental appointment, a note is required from the doctor’s office. This slip must be taken to their homeroom teacher.
Upon receiving the WHMS 2025-2026 student handbook, parents and guardians should read and be aware that their students must be on time to school and class or consequences may be assigned.
A tardy policy is in place to address class time missed due to frequent tardiness to include the following: 3rd tardy = warning notice (letter/phone call); 4th tardy = lunch detention; 5th tardy = IRS with regular core teachers; 6th tardy = Academic Support
Please make every effort to have students in school for the entire school day, as every minute of the instructional day is crucial for the growth and development of your child.
