Title: HCS Ornament
Medium: Oil Pastel
We would like to thank Harriett Payne, a 9th grade student at Harnett Central High School, for gracing this year’s Harnett County Schools holiday card!
Using oil pastels as a medium, her design focal point is a red HCS ornament on a sparkling Christmas tree. Art is her favorite subject and although she is not currently enrolled in art, she is an active member of the Harnett Central Trojan Art Society.
Harriett said she has never won anything in art before, “It’s pretty cool to see my art published and for people to see it. It’s fun!”.
She added that being selected, has been very encouraging, and inspires her to stay creative and to continue making art.
