THS FBLA
February 11th-17th is Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Week.  FBLA was founded in 1937 as an American career and technical student organization. “FBLA inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences."

The Triton chapter was chartered January 1, 1959, the first to be established in a school that was formed from three community schools that already had an FBLA Chapter. The 1st sponsors at the newly formed Triton High School were Mrs. Dessie McCants, Mrs. Sue Tew, Mr. Stanley Price, and Mr. Daughtry.  In September of 2003, Adviser Kimberly Hackett transferred to Triton. Ms. Hackett, an FBLA advocate with over 20+ years of participation in the organization, was crucial in reactivating the chapter and helped members improve membership enrollment. When the chapter was re-activated the membership officially grew the 2nd year by 200%.

It is currently the largest chapter in the region,  boasting multiple state and national-level recognition. Ms. Hackett Kimberly Hackett, was even selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).

For over 9 years, THS has had a student serve as the State FBLA Vice President. At one point, both president and vice president were from THS. Many FBLA members have earned scholarships and successful careers in business. They are a testament of the amazing learning opportunities that FBLA provides.

We are so proud of all our students and their many accomplishments! Join us in celebrating the success of Triton’s FBLA chapter, Ms. Kimberly Hackett and Mrs. Ashey Faulkner. We are grateful for your tireless dedication, and service to students at Harnett County Schools. A special thank you goes out to High School Director, Mr. Chip Mangum for his unwavering support for our students, staff, and families.
