Celebrating Literacy In Our Schools
Both #LibraryCardSignUpMonth and #InternationalLiteracyDay took place in September. We were able to celebrate #LiteracyInOurSchools at Dunn Elementary… where reading is #FUNdamental !
We enjoyed seeing students line up to check-out library books and use the book vending machines. Students who meet reading challenges are rewarded with a token. They use these tokens to redeem their prize (a book of choice from the vending machine).
The teachers were full of energy reading to students and developing cross-cultural competence in our students through international literature. The children were highly engaged in learning activities inspired by stories from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Pakistan.
