The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction designates the Purple Star Award to honor the schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and display a commitment to military families. The State Superintendent’s District Purple Star Award is bestowed upon districts in which ALL schools qualify for the Purple Star designation.
Dr. Aaron L. Fleming, Superintendent of Harnett County Schools was presented with the State Superintendent’s District Purple Star Award by Mr. Howard Lattimore, State Level Military Consultant, NCDPI. HCS is the only district to receive this honor three years in a row. We understand the unique challenges military children face and we proudly serve the military families in our community.
